A POEM AND PAINTING FOR DIGONG LOOK: Davao-based journalist Stella Estremera and Mindanaoan artist Kublai Millan launched the book \u201cQuarantine Reflections: A photographic journey of Kublai Millan reflected in words by Stella Estremera,\u201d and art exhibit today, \u201cSunrises for the Soul,\u201d today, August 18, at The Atrium of SM Lanang Premiere. Former President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Bong Go, and Honeylet Avance\u00f1a were among those who invited to grace the event and cut the ribbon to officially kickstart the beginning of the exhibit, which will run until August 31, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have said your goodbyes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever grateful to have served<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But more thrilled now to march on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The past six years have not been kind,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your steps slowed down, unsteady<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Portraying the onus worth 112-million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But marched on, you did,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bravely facing the blazing sunset<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of an equally blazing performance.Y<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ou embraced the quiet of a life<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now lived no longer at the helm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The burden relished only in remembrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No longer is it yours to serve the snarky 112-million<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now you can choose to rise at dawn<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then snuggle back under your mosquito net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, you have said your goodbyes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And revved up your motorcycle to chase sunsets <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But no, we\u2019re not ready to let you go, not yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve been our leader, punisher, protector<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through two generations and more you labored<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That life is done, you have said your goodbyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Read a book, break bread with us, share coffee,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ride to the next town, eat inun-unan or just a bowl of steaming balbacua<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Coz a sunset isn\u2019t the end, it\u2019s just a break to welcome another sunrise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chill\u2026 you earned it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
