MOTHER TREE by Kublai Millan

Arabesque
as only nature can weave.
Mother nature's mother tree,
Through your every breath, we live.

Mother tree
Your roots arched, sinewy yet strong,
as if reminding us 'tis this land we belong.

Limbs outstretched,
twisting, roots anchoring.
To Mother Earth we are all returning.

Tagbanwa
By your name we all know,
You are of this land where the Mother tree grows.

A mother tongue
distinct, an ancient script sublime,
Your identity unconquered, people as old as time.

Limbs outstretched,
twisting, roots anchoring.
To Mother Earth we are all returning.
